Born 1/7/1917, Larbert, Stirlingshire. Scotland

David was a Joiner by trade but also played 'part-time' professional football, in goal for, Partick Thistle, Stenhousemuir, and Falkirk.
He joined GSC in 17/9/42 and was posted to 181 Field Regt 28/10/42 he served with the Regt from Normandy to the Elbe, and was posted to serve in the Far East (Pickfords) but injured his leg while playing football on route, and ended up serving with 6th Airborne Div.in Palestine. Finally demobbed 31/12/46. Jim told me he was called up to serve during the Suez crisis but returned home after a few weeks.
